How much do veneers cost in the UK?

Across UK private practices, composite veneers typically sit in the region of £250 to £450 per tooth, and porcelain veneers in the region of £700 to £1,200 per tooth. Those are market ranges, not our fees — our own prices are published on the fees page — but they are a fair frame for judging any quote you are given.

If a quote falls far below the range, ask what has been left out. If it sits far above it, ask what has been added.

Why porcelain costs more than composite

Composite is shaped by hand on the tooth in a single visit. Porcelain is made by a specialist dental laboratory from a scan or impression, then bonded at a second appointment. You are paying for the ceramist's time, the material, and the extra planning visit — not simply for a better sticker.

Porcelain resists staining and typically lasts considerably longer, which is why the comparison should be cost per year, not cost on day one.

What changes the price

• The number of teeth treated — veneers are priced per tooth
• The laboratory used — a named ceramist costs more than a volume lab, and it shows
• Planning — digital smile design, trial smiles and wax-ups take time and are worth it
• Preparatory work — gum health, whitening or alignment sometimes come first
• What is included afterwards — reviews, polishing and any guarantee period

The question that matters more than price

Ask to see before-and-after photographs of cases the dentist has treated personally, and ask how many veneer cases they complete in a year. A beautiful result at a fair price beats a cheap result every single time — redoing poor veneers costs more than doing them well once.
