How much does composite bonding cost in the UK?

Bonding is priced per tooth, and the gap between the cheapest and the best quotes is mostly time, artistry and planning.

Across UK private practices, composite bonding typically runs from around £180 to £400 per tooth, with edge repairs at the lower end and full artistic reshaping of six to ten front teeth at the upper end. Those are market ranges, not our fees — ours are published on the fees page — but they are a fair yardstick for any quote.

Most cosmetic cases involve the six upper front teeth, sometimes eight or ten if your smile is wide, so the total matters more than the per-tooth figure.

    What you are paying for

    • Chair time — properly layered bonding on six teeth takes two to three hours in one sitting
    • The material itself; premium composites hold polish and resist staining far better
    • Planning — photographs, a digital or wax design, and a preview before anything is placed
    • Finishing — the polish stage is what separates natural-looking bonding from bulky bonding
    • Aftercare — a review to refine, and a nightguard where grinding is a factor

    Cheap bonding is expensive

Bonding placed quickly and under-polished stains at the margins within a year and often needs redoing. Redoing it costs more than having it done carefully once, and each redo removes a little more of the original work.

Ask how long the appointment is booked for. An hour for six teeth tells you most of what you need to know.

Our bonding fees are set out on the fees page, and a consultation in Twickenham gives you a written plan with a fixed figure before you commit to anything.
