Invisalign or fixed braces for adults?

A clear comparison of appearance, control, daily routine and the cases where fixed braces may be the stronger option.

Clear aligners and fixed braces can both move teeth predictably when they are used for the right case. The meaningful difference is not which system is newer, but which gives the clinician enough control and which routine you can follow consistently.

    The daily-life difference

Aligners are discreet and removable for meals, but need twenty to twenty-two hours of wear. Fixed braces work continuously and remove that responsibility, although cleaning and food choices need more care.

    Clinical control

Some complex rotations, bite corrections and movements can be more predictable with fixed appliances. Many mild and moderate adult cases work well with aligners. A scan and bite assessment should decide, not a preference questionnaire alone.

    What happens after either option

Retainers are essential after both aligners and fixed braces. Replacement retainers and long-term review should be included when you compare plans and fees.
