- How complex the tooth movement is, and therefore the number of aligners
- Whether refinement aligners are included if teeth need fine-tuning
- Any treatment needed first, such as hygiene, fillings or gum care
- Attachments, minor enamel reshaping and review appointments
- Retainers after treatment, which are essential to keep the result
Questions to ask before comparing quotes
- Is the 3D scan and treatment simulation included?
- Are refinements and reviews included, and for how long?
- Are the first set of retainers included?
- Who plans and supervises the treatment?
- Is interest-free or monthly payment available, and on what terms?
Risks and alternatives
Aligners work only when worn for most of the day. Teeth can move back without retainers, and some movements are more predictable with fixed braces. Alternatives include fixed braces, composite bonding for small cosmetic changes, or no treatment.
